Influence of leadership on technology
According to Roach & Behling, leadership is the process of influencing an organized group toward accomplishing its goals. It is a social influence process shared among all members of a group. It is not restricted to the influence exerted by someone in a particular position or role.
A vision with an action leads to success[Prof Srinivasan Bhattacharya]. In the corporate world, leaders must have a vision and must lead their team towards that vision. They must be able to motivate them and make them confident. For example, Dhirubhai Ambani who just started his carrier as a dispatch clerk has a vision to start his own Cell Phone Company and make technology available like a piece of paper. He has vision and had a faith in himself that he could reach his goal no matter what obstacles he has to face.
Every leader has a great opportunity to get the best out of their team. The BEST does not come in a day or two. It requires proper planning and strategy to get things done. Of all one should have faith in his own plan. According to Max De Pree a leader should have Integrity in all things precedes all else. The followers need to understand their leader, believe and implement his rules. A leader has to give equal opportunity for others to reach their potential at the same time that all works together toward goals.
Finally I like to say that Leadership is the ability and willingness of a person to perform a specific task.
