CICS at Midterm
The semester is almost half over and I feel like we have just began. I have been so busy keeping up with work that the weeks all blend together. I am learning more and more each day. This is not what I expected when signing up to do graduate school at Ball State University in the Center for Information and Communication Sciences. I come from a non technical background so learning technical terms and how they operate has taken some getting time to feel comfortable. But, this is an industry that is always changing and once you learn something then there is already something new in the industry.
Midterms are approaching and I feel unsure of what to expect. Not knowing the how a graduate level midterm works makes me unsure exactly how to prepare and study for it. I continue to find myself studying in different ways to prepare myself and do my best. The CICS classes do a tremendous job of preparing you for different aspects of the industry and testing at midterm is another way of showing this.
As the load and stress continues to pile up I find myself continuing to make sure I keep balance in my life. Ball State swim team keeps me busy but also allows me to clear my head of and concentrate on something other than school for 20 hours a week. Also Sundays I get time to go to church and keep my values and faith in the correct frame.
As the week progresses I hope to find myself maintaining balance and completing my workload. Trying to manage time and production is not always easy but it helps prepare myself for life outside of school. Although school is stressful it will prove justice when I get a job and feel prepared to succeed in the workforce.
