The Future WiMAX
What is WiMAX?
WiMAX is a wireless digital communications system, also technically called as IEEE 802.16 that is intended for wireless "metropolitan area networks".
WiMAX stands for worldwide interoperability that is a form of wireless digital communication, which is one of the fastest modes of communication, and now with use of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) which is still in its starting or initial stage helps to further emphasize and provide a higher stream of data transmission with a decrease in the interference disturbances. OFDM is used to divide signals into smaller sub channels, which makes the data transfer easier and helps in faster downloads. WiMAX has the potential to replace a number of existing telecommunications infrastructures, according to IEEE the standard designated is 802.16. There are classifications of WiMAX they are Fixed WiMAX which is stationary and Mobile WiMAX which is wireless. (Reference 3)(wimax.com,2008)
WiMAX has a spectral efficiency that is good in comparison with other broadband technologies and this wireless broadband enables mobile access to a high quality, for a better media layout and in applications such as high definition. This technology is easy to implement and is very cost efficient. It is considered as a leader in the wireless broadband due to the increase in mobility and for its reliability quotient.
This technology is a breakthrough and a new path in telecommunication that has a brighter scope, which will help in the advancement of the wireless telecom industry .
