The Renaissance & Humanism

One of the main products and catalysts of the renaissance was the concept of Humanism. Humanism as it related to the renaissance was a movement that affected the cultural, political, social, and literary culture all across Europe. What is described by humanism is a broad category of ethical philosophies that affirm the dignity and worth of all people, based on the ability to determine right and wrong by appealing to universal human qualities, particularly rationality. The renaissance ultimately bridged the gap that existed between the middle ages and the modern era that we even consider ourselves in today. For art, it meant attempting to capture emotion in paintings. It was a large revolution in Science, not an actual discovery but in a process that is still used today, the Scientific method.

Today we are experiencing the same sort of changes, only in a new way. The way information and knowlege is being stored, transferred and utilized is changing drastically.

Now the big question is this: What do we call the period in between the classical renaissance and the information renaissance? The late ages?
