European Renaissance in Art

The printing technology gave a right path towards the cultural development. People in Europe started to built their houses, churches with good architecture. The literacy of people, increased day by day. This renaissance also had an effect on the general society. Many people showed interest in politics. People started to look at other towns and places and began to explore. Many people started their own businesses in other towns and began to export and import the commodities.
Due to this relocation and migration culture began to spread all over the nation. The people learned new culture and started to practice and this made a dramatic change in Humanism. Humanism is not a philosophy but it is the method of learning. It deals with the Grammar, poetry and Ethics. This gave a new birth to Education system.
The renaissance in Art was influenced by Giotto De Bondone in 14th century. He treated the painting from window into space and made the painting more realistic and natural. From this change the painters started to study about the shading, studied about light. The city that is celebrated for the Renaissance in painting is Florence in Italy.
Many themes were created based on the church and artists later started to use oil paintings and canvas. Leonado da Vinci who made exceptional study in shading and light created ever lasting paintings. He was called as “Renaissance man”. His paintings such as Mona lisa and Virgin of Rocks he made a advanced study about atmosphere and used light and shade. He also studied about human anatomy and achieved a degree of realism in human expressions.
The Renaissance of Art happened due to the invention of new methods of applying technology to art. Humanism played an major role in expressing the artists feelings and emotions

European Renaissance

The rebirth of culture, technology and science happened in Europe between the 14th century and 17th century. Most dramatic changes happened between this period. The cultural movement in European history roughly begins in 14th century in Italy. The cultural movement spread throughout the Europe from Italy. The cultural movement gave way to new forms of paining, art, technology and religion.
The invention of printing press in 16th century was the advanced technology which paved the path to the cultural development. Jonah Guttenberg, inventor of printing press was considered as the “the most influential man” in 1000 years. The technology of printing took off because of the quality and economy came together. He printed the first Bible and made several copy and spread the bible throughout the world.
As Bible was considered as a Spiritual book the spirituality began to spread in Europe which directly influences the life of people. The printing technology influenced the Education system and since many people were able to read the books the new scientific methods and technology was created which increased in literacy in people.
This promoted people in constructing church and concentrated on Architecture and design. The new technologies were used to improve the design of architecture.

Mobile Multimedia Push toTalk

The Ribirth of technolgy gives a smooth path to innovative ideas. Among them Push to talk over cellular is an innovative idea implemented in third Generation technology. Push to talk is another service provided by 3G Networks. Push toTalk functions like a walkie-talkie, with an immediate response. The PTT communication is carried out in half-duplex mode. This service is for quick communication between end users. PoC enables the use of SIP as the signaling protocol over cellular data networks. The SIP protocol extensively works in the packet switched Network. (Vlasach, 2007)
Session Initiation Protocol (SIP):
Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is an upgrade version of H.323 which is an application protocol used to create, modify and terminate the session with one participant. SIP is mainly used by VoIP to transfer the multimedia applications. It also supports both unicast and multicast streaming modes. SIP is an independent application protocol which can run on Transfer control protocol (TCP) and User-Datagram protocol (UDP).
(Rosenberg, 2002)

The main objective of SIP is to provide the signaling and call-setup for IP-based communications by making and tearing the call connection. The important characteristics of SIP are
• SIP is transport-independent since it can be used by UDP and TCP.
• SIP codes are in text-based allowing the user to read easily.
(Rosenberg, 2002)
The video conferencing technology uses the SIP protocol in IP based networks. The traditional network uses H.323.
Advantages of SIP:
• SIP is more streamlined protocol developed specially for IP telephony.
SIP can take control over the other protocols which cannot done by the H.323
• Call initiation and ending in SIP will be obtained by two communication tools helps to track the location of user.
• SIP can be easily updated like a HTML page.
(advantage of sip for VoIP, 2006
Establishment of Push-to-Talk communication:
SIP framework facilitates the PTT communication by providing end-to-end connection in all devices. SIP introduces a stack that is relevant in handling the wireless SIP User Agents (UAs).

SIP based PTT communication

In normal standard SIP UA, the other UA communicate directly with the end devices which takes time and sometimes the connection will break which leads to loss of data and takes long time to get back to the normal state. But in PTT communication PoC server catches the status and settings of the wireless device. When the wireless network changes its status SIP updates the PoC server and when another device wants to connect the particular device, it checks with the PoC server and determines the connection to receive the data. This process makes faster connection between end users in PTT communication and also effectively prevents bandwidth use. (Vlasach, 2007)

Mobile Video Telephony

The first multimedia services in mobile phone started at 2004 with the introduction of MMS. The multimedia applications are carried out by specific protocols and each protocol has their own specifications. Specific protocols are designed to solve certain problems and provide a new service by combining the existing protocol. The different types of protocol used in mobile multimedia are
• 3G H.324M
• Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)
• Real Time Streaming protocol (RTSP)
• SIP/JSR-180
To enable rich applications such as mobile TV, location-based services, and voice over IP (VoIP), these applications needs to support the end-to-end mobile infrastructure. Reliable and assured transport is essential to achieve the required user experience.

Book Review of "The Search"

The search by John Battelle is about the Google business from its beginnings to its multi-billion business success. The Google is the most prominent declaration of the power of search. It provides a new way of approach to the Internet technology and this acts as a gateway of instant knowledge than any other resources. Battelle also explains about the war between the search engines and arrival of online advertisements.
John Battelle divides the whole book into three sections. He discussed about the story of rise of Google, the business success and future of search engine. He said that the search engine consists of three major parts- the crawl, the index, and the runtime. He explains the importance and how the search engine will work and also about the search engines that were used in earlier stages. From the year 2000-2004 Google made business from zero to billion dollars. Google changed their business from Double Click Ad to Cost per thousand (CPM) model. This model is like when you search for “Ford cars” an ad would be appear on the top of the page. Mixing CPM with keyword-based advertising had increased their revenue. The year 2001 was as a big year for Google. The significant improvement started with the purchase of Deja News from Usenet which failed to attract people with their service. This made a big success for Google and it continued through 2003 and 2004 with the acquisition of Blogger, Picasa- a photo sharing service, launched a new service called Google Print, Gmail, Google Map, and Google Desktop Search. By introducing these features Google made the revenue of about $4 billion in four years
Battelle states that “The world is in control of Google” and if the Website doesn't allow Google to do its deep linking, that site will be practically invisible. The Google’s official mantra is “Do no evil” where author explains about privacy and the problem on privacy that people facing.

Book Summary China Inc

China INC explains how china is becoming the greatest supreme power in very near future. China is the fastest growing country in the world. China is growing three times faster than U.S. and uses more materials and man power than any country.
Tod Fishman reveals that the huge population and cheap labor plays an important role in influencing the Chinese market. Workforces are not only cheap but they are well trained and operate under a stable political system. Fishman stated that the large number of people migrated from the countryside to the rural areas which deliberately decrease the demand of work force and lead the path to cheap labors. Second factor is the local market is viewed as the “biggest market” where one-fifth of the humanity in the world lives in china which also attracts the global players. Fishman also states that china become the largest manufacturer of electronics product. This shows the improvement in technology and china is moving rapidly in biotech and computer manufacturing.
Although Fishman showed the factors influencing the world market but he didn’t discuss about the ruin of culture when people move from countryside to urban areas.
Fishman observes infrastructure in china is getting better due to privatization of common resources such as roads, water and energy. He also reported the change in political views from communism to Marxism influences the economy of china. Fishman states that “economical miracle” is happening in china and in 20 years if they compete with the quality of the product then china can make everything that U.S. and Europe can make at one third of its price.
Fishman states that china in recent years has lifted more people out of poverty than any other country in the world. Finally the author concludes that china is in right track to attain its supreme power in few fore coming years.

Information Renaissance

The growth of information technology over the past decade has revolutionized everything we do. It has shrunk our world to such an extent that what happens in the most remote areas is covered instantaneously. The use of the internet has shot up astronomically over the last couple of years. State-of-the-art technology like Wi-Fi and Wimax have grown to change everything the way people communicate, to the performing complex medical operations from remote areas. What would have been deemed as an unthinkable task a decade ago is no longer a dream. Thanks to the rapid growth of information technology. Access to information has increased due to the constant improvements in the contemporary technologies supporting its broadcast, such as mobile technology, wireless technology etc. The meteoric growth in information technology has facilitated the information renaissance. The internet has been the backbone for growth in the access to unlimited extent of information on any single topic one can imagine of. Mobile phones have also radically changed the availability of information to the common man. Today everything from the weather forecast to the latest information on the stock exchange can be accessed instantly using mobile phones. “Overcoming the flat dissemination of knowledge and information and the unavailability of information on both supply and demand sides of the market will create an information society that awakens public knowledge and opens up a vast wealth of information; indeed, this will create a self-actualization society that can be fairly characterized as an information society renaissance” (Kouji Ohboshi). Information renaissance has brought about a change in the approach reach out for information from libraries to online books and journals.
