Human Communication: Practice and Theory

Introduction


Human Communication. This is what we do daily, what our ancestors used to do during all their lifetime, and what our children will do as well. According to Campbell (Oct. 7, 2008), “Human Communication is a complex topic with no single definition.” We speak, we write, we sing, we paint, we behave... Every single thing we do, and every single thing we do not do, contribute to our communication with others, but also with ourselves. By what we do, the way we do it, at the time we do it, in the context we do it... Therefore, Human Communication defines itself by its practice. By analyzing it, we will be able to draw our personal theory of Human Communication and peeping out one key element: listening.
