A final thought: The CICS Master AS the Renaissance Man or Woman

I found it time to make a final observation on the Information Renaissance. I fought with many ideas to find what was the quintessential synthesis of the work of Dr. Gillette, Chin-Gi, Scott, Sweta and I had done this year... I was driven to Chin-Gi's essential comparisions of the characteristics of the European Renaissance Man (or Woman) to the Information Renaissance Person... from that (and with a few editorial changes), I have taken the characteristics of Chin-Gi's Information Renaissance Person and applied them to the CICS Master... here is what I found...

1. From Humanism to OmniPotent Humanism:
If by omnipotent, you consider that humanism is a multifaceted concept that can be adapted to all aspects of human life, then doing so in a omnipotent manner that is inclusive and non-judgemental, then indeed all who truly get CICS can achieve this transition.

2. From Individualism to Collaboration
I recall Dr. Gillette's words from the first day of 602 (which if you didn't get then you certainly get now)... We aren't building you, we are building a leadership cadre. How true and fitting.

3. From Idealism to Multi-Idealism
Moving from one view to a multi-faceted, distorted and disjointed multiple view... sounds like ambiguity, a challenge that the master embraces!

4. From Exploration and Discovery to Innovation
Allow me to borrow from the Bible (James 2:14-26), with the wisdom of Faith Without Works is Dead... I say that Exploration and Discovery without Innovation is Dead... it takes more than just to say how and why... we must take that to the now what?!? stage and be daring, bold and innovative in the information age!

5. From Scientific Method
I'm not sure where Chin-Gi was going with this point (it wasn't finished in his post), but let me conjecture that it was ... to Human Method... It's not enough to understand science... we must understand the gut and what the human experience means to science... it is through the unity of science and humanism that technology gets its ultimate power to make change and be an agent of difference to people.

6. From Fragmentation and Nationalism to Internationalism and Gloablism
Be an International! screams Tom Peters... with the rise of India and China, the power of the EU, the return of Russia, the dominance of the Middle East (and maybe, hopefully, possibly, dare we dream it today... the rise from decades of dispair for AFRICA), there is NO SUPERPOWER... we must be agile and International in our perspective or see our perspective leave us dead in the dust.

7.Versatile Parallel-Processing
A few words sum it up perfectly: Frank Groom, Unlimited Presence!

8. Collborative Individualism
Talk about duchotomy and ambiguity! Master the individual talents within a collaborative framework... this is the master stroke of a man or woman of the new Renaissance!

9. Explorative Innovation
Follow the heart and the mind and discover new innovations never before dreamt possible.

10. Internationalism and Globalism
Again and again and again it is stressed... for the essential reason... IT IS YOUR FUTURE... get it now and profit or get it later and pay!

And so, on the cusp of become a CICS Master, I say I believe we all must live the Renaissance around us to take in the full flavor of life made possible by ICT. My fellow Masters, I wish you well in this endeavor. Best to all... viven con Dios, mis amigos!
