I think everyone would agree that modern technology has done some great things for humanity. Technologies like cell phones and the internet have made communication easier than ever. Some technologies are not so beneficial for all humanity. An example would be the increase of robot technologies on assembly lines which has cut back on many jobs normally done by people. Then there are technologies that are created for no other reason except someone was bored and figured out a way to make something cool

While doing "research" on the internet I stumbled across some videos of technologies that I find pretty entertaining. One of these would be the robotic Pacman game. I'm sure eventually this technology can be made into something useful, but for now it's nothing more than a great way to play Pacman with real robots. It's actually pretty interesting to see all the thought that has gone into making the real-life Pacman game.

Another fun technology video I cam across is the remote control bowling ball. No offense to anyone who is an avid bowler, but professionally bowlers tend to be the least athletic of all professional athletes. Now someone has developed a way that bowlers can bowl a strike without ever getting up. I don't know about you, but I know I've been looking for a way to improve my bowling score...and I think I've found it.

Now during my "research" I did come across some technologies that have some practical use. Take the secret knock lock for example. I'm sure all of us have been in a situation where we've been locked out without our keys or had too much stuff in our hands to get our keys out. This guy has figured out a way that you can program a sequence of knocks into a lock and it will recognize the sequence and unlock the door. You can change the secret knock as often as you'd like so no one else can know what your secret knock is. Hopefully this technology catches on.

Finally I have come across some videos involving robots. Some of them are pointless but funny ways to use robots such as the Christmas dancing robots. Although this is funny, I would personally find something better to do with all those robots or maybe I'm just jealous because the robots dance better than I do. Whatever the case may be I have also found videos of people developing robots for practical uses. The Petman robot has been developed by the military to search areas that may have landmines. This robot has one of the most human-like walks I have ever seen and it can catch it's balance when pushed. Maybe this technology can be further developed to help people who can no longer walk, we'll just have to see.

Developing technologies has become easy and easy for just about everyone to do. Some technologies are good, some are bad, and some are just funny. However modern technology is being used it still goes to show that technology is going to be forever developing into both useful and useless things.
