Information Communication Sciences Mission Statement

Everyday is a blessing, alive with the opportunity to broaden knowledge, create memories and discover the ever-changing world. Now, seven years after building a career as an elementary teacher, I am ready to dive into the world of information and communication!

I will be the first to admit that I have a long way to go before I am current with the information age. After all, I only recently participated in my first online chat with a customer service representative. I feel proud to say that I am (finally!) developing a Facebook page. With the admission of my “behind-the-times” discoveries, I am ready to jump on the fast track to 2008!

The information and communication program will not only expose me to the latest technologies, but will educate me on how to problem solve in order to use technology for the betterment of mankind (ambitious, I know).

A very appealing aspect of the course is the “social learning program.” Although I have worked as a professional, my primary audience has been six, seven, and eight year old children. I look forward to interacting with adults and building my social and networking skills.

The opportunity to participate in this intense and noteworthy program (not to mention the capability to earn the degree in eleven months!) cannot be denied. I look forward to studying hard, planning and executing projects, and polishing my professional and networking skills to become a leader in the information and communication field.
