European Renaissance: The Last Supper

"Do this in remembrance of Me", (1 Cor 11:23-25)
The Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci is my favorite painting. The last supper was the last meal Jesus shared with his apostles before his death. Many people believe that this is one of Da Vinci most famous paintings. In the painting Jesus divides up some bread, says grace, and hands the pieces to his disciples, saying this is my body. He then takes a cup of wine, says grace, and hands it around, saying this is my blood and Jesus said, “Do this in remembrance of Me”, (1 Cor 11:23-25). Many Christian on the first Sunday of every month have communion for the remembrance of Jesus. The meal is considered by most scholars likely to have been a Passover Seder, celebrated on the Thursday night, which is consider holy Thursday before Jesus was crucified on Friday which is Good Friday. I think religion was very powerful in the European Renaissances. The last supper painting is a wonderful painting and will be remembered for ever.
