Theory vs. practice
I found this in
an article about scalable languages. Even if the article does not appeal to you, it is worth a scan for the pull quotes.
There is a joke about American engineers and French engineers. The American team brings a prototype to the French team. The French team's response is: "Well, it works fine in practice; but how will it hold up in theory?"

hilarious blog for Steve Jobs. Poor taste, very funny.
Can Open Source dig into the phone switch business. Even if Americans do not build
these, offshores surely will.
