A place at the table

Bloggers have finally gotten on Jon Stewart's screen.  A long and pretty funny spot from the Daily Show covers the problem of bloggers as soothsayers in a crowd of standardized diluted media coverage. When Jon Stewart points out that bloggers have gained a certain legitimacy, Steve Colbert says:

...and therein lies our only hope for with legitimacy, the bloggers will gain a seat at the table and with that comes access, status, money, power, ... And if we have learned anything about the mainstream media that breeds complacency, or whatever...

With eight million blogs, many of them famous, it is not surprising that problems of ethics have surfaced.  There is a thoughtful article on this at the Online Journalism Review.
