Negotiation

On the weekend of 15 November 2003, the Center for Information and Communication Sciences held its annual Placement Seminar. I gave a talk on marketing yourself as a professional. The key to success in marketing is this:

Success = Know your product + know your market

Knowing your product means know your competencies.
Knowing your market means knowing how your competencies add value
to the companies and organizations in your market.

In the end, marketing means exchanging your knowledge value for position
and responsibilities. Bargain high.
