Thinking about Information Renaissance, what first struck me was our extreme dependance on Internet today. I for one cannot think of a world without Internet. Right from talking to my parents who are on the other end of the world through Skype to completing all my projects with the help of Google to booking my flight tickets for spending my Christmas holidays- my whole world revolves around the Internet. Hence, I though it would be a great idea to write about that personality who laid the foundation stone for the Internet and thank him for his contributions- Tim Berners Lee

While the field of information and technology has seen rapid developments over the past 50 years, women have entered the field only recently. The number of women achievers in the field of technology is comparatively less as only in the recent past have woman started rising the corporate ladders and are holding their forte in what was considered “a man’s world”.
One such woman, who has survived a lot of odds and is today India’s richest woman is Kiran Mazumdar Shah – Managing Director of Biocon Ltd.
